Like anything, different things work for different people.

Surveys, along with shopping portals and dining programs, are just another way to earn more points and miles.

What is Miles For Opinions and how do you earn airline miles with it?

Miles For Opinions is an online market research panel that partners with American Airlines so that you can earn miles for taking surveys.

You must first be an American AAdvantage member.

You get 250 miles for signing up after taking your first survey.

This is how I discovered the program.

I probably ignored e-mails for a long time though.

Are surveys a waste of time?

In case you have never taken a survey, whether for miles or cash, are surveys easy to do?

Honestly, surveys have a bad rap.

Sometimes for a reason.

I have done surveys for years off and on.

Honestly, sometimes they can be annoying after you spend more time getting disqualified than taking surveys.

I think most people have a negative opinion about surveys because they are used to advertisements that claim you will make hundreds a month.

This is just not true.

I tell my readers to expect to get between $20-$50 a month.

This sounds small and very different than the $500 a month advertised.

It is what is realistic though without wasting time.

Otherwise, you may be having a lot of time stolen for pennies.

So, surveys are not hard, but you have to guard your time.

This is true whether you are using Miles to Opinions, Swagbucks, or Survey Junkie.

My Experience Earning Airline Miles With Miles To Opinions

So again, I am familiar with surveys and know the routine, which is the same as other survey sites.

So, I already knew to do one survey a day.

This actually was not noticed in my day surprisingly.

The average was sixty miles for a ten to twenty minute survey.

That would give me around 1800 points a month.

Again, I thought this would be a few miles and just for topping off my account.

Almost 2000 points (rounded off) would give me 24,000 points at the end of the year, which is enough for a free flight in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico.

Even better, American Airlines usually runs sales to certain domestic locations for 5000 miles each way or 10,000 miles round trip.

So in six months, I could go on one of those trips.

Right now, during the pandemic, I have not seen those on American Airlines in June or July, but I have seen them on Delta.

Sure they will have to compete.

I want to see if I can do two surveys a day, and up my points to 3600 miles per month.

So for about ten to twenty minutes a day (which is unnoticed in my day again), this has been ok.

Some days I forget to do them though.

It was my first month last month.

I will try to be more consistent this month.

Benefits of Miles To Opinions

You can keep your miles from expiring. Miles can expire after 12-18 months of no activity.
You can top off your account if you need a few hundred or thousand miles.
Little effort.
No cost to use.

Negatives

Not as many points as a credit card sign up bonus.
Will not be immediate.
Not good for people who have little time.

So should you try to earn airline miles with Miles For Opinions?

Like I said, I expected this to be for just topping off my account.

With just one survey a day, I will have enough points for a round trip ticket in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Mexico at the end of the year.

One survey a day is not noticed in my day.

With two surveys a day, that could be done in 6 months or quicker.

Honestly, surveys are never for people who barely have time in their day to even eat.

I think surveys are like shopping portals or dining programs, they usually won’t accumulate a lot of miles quickly.

Honestly, some days I forgot to do the surveys again.

If you have time to watch television or surf the internet, I think this could work for you.

I don’t know if they allow you to do more than one survey a day, but you should not do more than two a day anyway.

Surveys only average $1-4 per hour.

So, I think in between running errands or watching television, you can get a ten to twenty minute survey in and add to your American Airlines balance.

You don’t have to do them every day either.

Just whenever you have time.

If you combine with other things like shopping portals and dining portals your miles will add up.
