Update: September 25, 2022
During the pandemic, I got a new hobby: watching aviation channels on YouTube.
This is the next best thing to flying and a lot of fun.
If you love flying, this will be fun.
Some of these YouTubers seem to fly every day!
This is a way to increase your AvGeekness (if that is a word).
I always read flight reviews on sites like the Points Guy or One Mile At A Time, but I never paid attention to the video reviews on YouTube until the pandemic.
This has been a lot of fun again.
Most normal people can’t fly every plane type (in economy, business, or first class) on every international or domestic airline.
YouTube aviation reviews are the next best thing to actually flying.
Why Read Or Watch Airline Channels Anyway?
I love reading airline reviews.
I am a blogger.
I will write airline reviews (if people are interested).
When I talk to my friends, they have never heard of this stuff.
The points and miles community is actually very small.
Airline reviews, like hotels ones, are written so you know what to expect on a particular airline.
I think this is a good way to learn about international and even domestic airline products.
Never tried JetBlue’s Mint business class?
Read or watch an aviation channel.
Never flown Japan Airlines or Emirates business or first class product?
Read or watch a channel.
I don’t mean to bore my AvGeek audience.
Reviews will let you know what to expect on a flight (even a measly CRJ flight or narrow body 319) again.
They will also help you learn more about different planes.
This is great if you want to learn about first class and business class products that you have never flown again.
If you don’t know much about planes, it will teach you a lot too.
What is the difference between the Boeing 787 and the Airbus 350?
Watch or read a review.
Again, I have been reading reviews for years, but the video reviews on YouTube were new to me.
I don’t know if I will get bored watching aviation channels
Again, since there are so many international and domestic airline products out there to try, I doubt it.
Here are my favorite aviation YouTube channels.
Again, if you love aviation or would like to be more of an AvGeek, I think this will be a lot of fun.
An AvGeek is just someone who loves all things aviation.

My Favorite Aviation YouTube Channels
1. Simply Aviation
Simply Aviation is one of my favorite channels.
The owner is from Vienna, Austria.
The channel reviews economy, business, and first class international flights.
It also reviews United States domestic flights too.
2. Jeb Brooks
Jeb is an American frequent flyer who lives in Greenville, South Carolina.
He reviews top products like ANA business class and Delta One Suites.
He also reviews your average 737 or even the regional CRJ 200.
He even reviews Amtrak.
I find the videos entertaining and educational.
3. QFS Aviation
This YouTuber is barely over 18, but travels all over the world.
He has a lot of footage in the United States during the pandemic.
4. SanSpotter
I actually followed this YouTuber first as a blogger.
He has a great YouTube channel too.
I think it is witty and quirky with a lot of personality.
This YouTuber worked in corporate America before going full time.
5. Sam Chui
This is probably the most famous and the celebrity of Aviation YouTube Channels.
He has a lot of great reviews on first and business class.
Again, Sam is one of the most famous of the aviation personalities.
YouTube Channels On Travel In General
Those were my favorite aviation channels.
If you want to watch YouTube channels on general travel, check out these:
- Vagabrothers
- Hopscotch The Globe
- Fun For Louis
- Fearless & Far
I also like the generic big sites like Expedia for watching videos on cities I have never been to.
They are a quick, easy introduction.
Summary
Since the pandemic started, watching aviation reviews on YouTube has become a new hobby and been a lot of fun.
I find it is the next best thing to flying.
If you would like to learn more about airline products like JetBlue Mint, Emirates First Class, or even flying Spirit; check one of these channels out.
This is a great AvGeek hobby if you don’t know that much about airline products, and would like to increase your knowledge.
Again, I find this to be the next best thing to flying.
