Hotel promotions can earn you lots of extra points over time.
As usual, if you are staying at a hotel, make sure to register for the latest promotion.
I will update my page with all of the major chain promotions for the winter/spring soon.
Marriott has it’s first promotion of 2025.
Marriott does not always have a promotion, so I would register.
I stay at Marriotts , Hiltons, and Hyatts.
With Marriott’s current promotion, you earn 1000 bonus points, as well as double elite night credits.
The elite night credits can come in handy, depending on who you are.
Marriott’s New Global Promotion

Again, with Marriott’s new promotion, members earn:
- 1000 bonus Bonvoy points per eligible paid night (not stay)
- One extra elite bonus credit
The promotion is valid for stays between February 11-April 28, 2025.
Registration does have a cut off date though.
You must register by April 14, 2025.
Award stays do not count toward this promotion.
Only paid stays count.
Points/cash stays do not count either.
It says you should receive your points and elite nights credits within 10 business days.
I usually receive my points and elite night credits a couple days after check out.
Remember, you always earn an elite night credit per stay, so this is 2 elite night credits per night.
There is no limit to how many points you can earn with this promotion.
You cannot earn bonus points on multiple rooms on the same stay though.
You must have your preference selected as Bonvoy points.
Who Is This Promotion For?

This promotion benefits everyone.
Since Marriott points are worth .7 cents, 1000 points are worth $7 per night.
Most promotions like this benefit people who do shorter stays.
Since you earn points per night instead of per stay, this benefits those who do longer stays too.
Again, you earn double elite nights too.
So, if you are seeking higher status , you will earn more elite credits.
just keep in mind that for most people, hotel elite status is best obtained with a credit card.
The elite status sweet spot in the Marriott chain is Platinum status.
This is where you get free breakfast.
You can obtain Platinum status just by having the American Express Marriott Brilliant card.
The card does have a $650 fee though.
Read a review of the Marriott Brilliant card here to see if it is for you.
Just keep in mind that the card only comes with 25 elite credit, and you need 50 credits to get the 5 Nightly Suite Upgrade Awards that everyone loves.
If you combined this card with the business card with 15 credits, you would have 40 elite credits.
You would then only need 10 more stays/award nights to get the suite upgrade.
The Marriott Brilliant card will give you the suite upgrade if you spend a huge $60,000 on the card too.
When you can put that money on other things, I don’t know if that is worthwhile.
If you want the 5 Nightly Suite Upgrade Awards, I think it would be best to get both he American Express Brilliant and Business card again.
Just make sure you will earn the 10 remaining elite credits.
How Many Points Will You Earn With This Promotion?

With this promotion, you earn 1000 bonus points
In addition to the promotion, you earn 10 points per dollar at most Marriotts brands.
At brands like Residence Inn and Element, you only earn 5 points per dollar though.
Elite members also get an additional points with status:
- SilverElite members earn 10% bonus points.
- Gold Elite members earn 25% bonus points.
- Platinum Elite members earn 50% bonus points.
- Titanium and Ambassador earn 75% bonus points.
You can also earn more points when paying with a Marriott’s co-branded credit card (usually 6 points per dollar).
Marriott credit cards include:
- Chase Marriott Boundless card
- Chase Marriott Bold card (only 3 points per dollar)
- American Express Marriott Brilliant card
- American Express Marriott Business card
- American Express Marriott Bevy card
- Chase Marriott Bountiful card
So, again how many points would you earn with this promotion?
As a Marriott Silver with a $200 base stay paying with the Marriott Boundless card, you would earn:
- 2000 base points at most brands
- 200 points as a Silver elite
- 1000 bonus points for the promotion
- 1200 points for using the Marriott Boundless card
- Total: 4400 points for one night
That is worth $30.80
Not bad, for just a Silver elite.
The Marriott Boundless card gives automatic Silver status.
Hotel credit cards are underrated.
They earn you more points.
They can even get you a free night certificate.
Summary
Marriott’s latest global promotion is here.
Again, with it, you earn 1000 bonus points and double elite night credits.
Make sure to register.
I like to register for promotions when I first find out about them, so I don’t forget.
As usual, you are leaving points on the table if you are staying at a hotel , and not registered for it’s promotion.
